So, it is snowing again today here in NJ and while it doesn't look like we will get 30+ inches in my area like we did during the last storm, it brings something to mind that I thought I'd write a short post about.
If you use accessible parking spaces, I'm sure you are already aware that when it snows the place that the snow is pushed to to make the regular/normal spaces usable is the handicapped spot (or spots).
When it is nice out, I really don't mind parking far from the building I am going to. In fact, I usually do NOT use the handicapped parking spaces unless the weather is really poor (rain or extreme cold). So it isn't really that I'm complaining about the fact that I cannot use these spaces when there are huge mountains of snow pushed into them. It is the principle of the issue.
I could really go on and on about handicapped parking issues, but I will leave it at that for today.
Have a good one!
You are funny....I myself am still trying to get over just how many "people" have the little thing that hangs from the window or is on their plate....who then get out of their vehicle and.....walk in.....OK so I am not going to leave out the elderly at a Super Walmart - because the Lot is so damn big - one of em might get ran over - now I am talking about one who takes 3 or 4 steps to a normal persons 1 - you get the pic - easy to say (my dad actually has one - open heart surgery and a hip replacement - and in his 70's he also has swollen feet that feel like lead - don't know the condition - but wish he would walk more - could use it - but the whole snow thing is such an issue for you - my boyfriend and I went out to eat in the sleet Saturday night - alas the spots were open - though he is like you - as along as he has room to exit - it's really no big deal - but snow sleet and pouring down rain - well I feel for ya - and I really could go on - I think once I parked in a spot - when I was sick as heck and had to go into the store and the only spots available were way way out....mind you - he and I discussed recently that the universal sign HAS a wheelchair on it......so to end I feel there should be grades....for wheelchairs...and then those who can walk.....different color - different sign.....*sigh* I actually landed on your Blog searching a different topic. Peace
